Walt Whitman Poem

  A Promise to California
A PROMISE to California,
Also to the great Pastoral Plains, and for Oregon:
Sojourning east a while longer, soon I travel toward you, to remain,
to teach robust American love;
For I know very well that I and robust love belong among you, inland,
and along the Western Sea;
For These States tend inland, and toward the Western Sea--and I will
also.

I like it because it is short, sweet, and to the point.

These and all were to the same as they are to you, I loved those well cities, loved well the stately and rapid river, The men and women I saw were all near to me, Others the same- others who look back on me because look'd forward to them, (the time will come, though I stop to-day and to-night.)

Would you live a life of danger?

Why do you think some people are attracted to dangerous sports or other dangerous activities? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

    I think some people are attracted to dangerous activities/sports because they either just need a thrill or they have been hurt earlier in life. Some people need danger to feel normal, to feel like they can do something. People sometimes believe that they need to have danger in their lives to they feel whole. They feel if there not doing something dangerous they are doing something wrong. Some people are around people that make them feel like they need danger in their lives. There are many different types of dangerous activities things like jumping out of airplanes, jumping off bridges, or maybe even bungee jumping. That's one type of dangerous activities. There is also dangerous behavior that leads to dangerous activities. For example someone could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and end up doing something dangerous that could cost them their lives. Many people do dangerous things to get attention or to express themselves. Maybe some people grow up doing dangerous activities so that's all they know.

    Some people choose to be involved in dangerous sports because they just love to do it or it gives them a sense of accomplishment.  It gives them tht sense because alot of people won't get involved in dangerous sports because they fear for their lives. Some sports like Bull Riding, Street Luging, and Motorcycle Racing are examples of dangerous sports. People do these sports either because they grew up on the sport or they just fell in love with the sport.

     Many people choose to do dangerous things for different reasons. Would you live a life of danger?

Sophomore Year

   This school year I expected my classes to drag and be really boring. This year it's nothing like that I love all my classes and the day goes by super fast. All my classes are going well. All my teachers seem pretty nice and willing to help when something isn't understood. The classes seem like if you try hard and do the best you can you will get good grades. But some classes are harder to understand than others. But everyone is going to have classes they understand better than others. Some people have to work harder than others, some people get it and some don't right away. I love how my day is set up most of my harder thinking classes are in the beginning of the day, besides one of my classes. So it's like I have all my core classes over with by lunch. I also like having two Choir classes and one Art it spices up my school day. I also have classes with good friends that stay on task so it encourages me to keep working. Sophomore year is going to be a great year.
